Read on to learn more about Stephanie and her passion for pursuing her dreams and being a role model for her baby girl!
What is the name of your business or line of work and what is your title?
Boho Beauty House. It is a curated Skincare Shop and Facial Spa specializing in the Glo!
How many children do you have and what are their ages?
One little girl, Saylah, who is almost 3!
Are you a native of Tampa Bay? If not, tell us why and when you relocated here:
Yes, I was born in Tampa and I lived here until I was eleven! My family then moved to Southern California. When I moved back to Tampa at twenty-one, I started my career as an aesthetician. I’m now 36 years old!
Tell us about your business and how you became a mom boss:
Boho Beauty House is a facial spa and shop specializing in Corrective Skincare, Buccal Intraoral Facials, Lash, and Brow services. We also have a curated skincare selection of the best-loved products and beauty tools.
I started my career at a young age, I always worked five days a week and would see multiple clients without coming up for air most of those days. It was all I knew and I loved every minute of it. Right before opening Boho Beauty House, I found out I was pregnant just. I have to admit, it was a major adjustment, but having Saylah gave me more of a purpose and pushed me to really make the best of my time while working!
It became my goal to take my business to next level, so that it would be worth it all as a business owner and a mama! I have learned to work smarter and that I can achieve a balanced full time working mom life! I have always felt blessed by the Tampa Bay Community throughout my career. It has been really special to share my journey of growing into a business owner and mother with a lot of my clients while feeling supported by them.
What is the best part of being a mom boss?
Being able to make your own schedule – I never miss anything important! Also being able to show my daughter she can have everything she ever dreamed of and to be able to support herself by example.
What is the hardest part of being a mom boss?
Wondering if it’s all going to fly by too fast. If I spent too much time working and I missed out on some of the good stuff!
How do you balance motherhood and running your own business?
I’m really good at time management and sticking to a schedule! Having an assistant and someone who does your laundry also helps and is totally worth it in my eyes!
How do you keep growing your business while balancing it all?
I really do give a 100% while I’m at work! So when I leave to take care of my family, I don’t have to worry. If I’m not in the treatment room I am making sure all the other tasks are getting done before I leave for the day. It goes back to really keeping to my schedule. I make a daily handwritten list, (it truly helps!)
What did you learn through the pandemic about balancing a business and motherhood?
It is hard, for us all – mom boss or not! You really do need to ask for help sometimes and it’s okay.
Any tips or advice you would like to offer other mom bosses?
Set attainable goals and establish sane work hours, don’t drive yourself crazy! Try to have fun sometimes too! Doing what you love for the ones you love makes it all worth it. Trust yourself that you have all the tools to succeed.
